Kaolin, also known as white clay or china clay, is a soft clay that’s been considered to be one of the gentlest facial clays. It has kaolinite, a mineral that consists of layered silicate. While the mineral is found all over the world, it has been mined at the Kao-ling mountain (China) since ages.
Kaolin clay is suitable for almost all types of skin, especially sensitive skin. It mostly comes in white colour, but can also be pink, green or brown. Experts suggest that whiter the colour of Kaolin clay, the better its quality is.
Benefits:
Kaolin clay is great for treating acne, and wonderful for those with sensitive skin. Being the mildest among all clays, it soaks up excess oil in your skin.
Kaolin clay pulls out impurities such as grime, dirt, pollution and germs from the pores. That is how your pores stay clean and don’t get clogged up, thus preventing breakouts and blackheads or whiteheads.
Kaolin clay has high concentration of silica, it locks in moisture content. Silica is a compound that helps in both removing dead skin and maintaining moisture, which means the skin won’t look or feel overly dry after you wash off the facial mask. It will feel soft as the skin texture improves.
Kaolin Clay works as a teeth whitener. The ability to draw out impurities, makes it an excellent substitute for whitening toothpaste. It can remove the toxins and gunk from your teeth and make them whiter.
